In wake of the threatening rise of the coronavirus infection in Indore, the District Collector has further extended the corona curfew till April 30 here. As per the issued order, the urban areas in Indore will continue to observe a partial lockdown to curb the rampant spread of infection here. The district recorded yet another high with 1,753 new infections on Tuesday, marking the highest surge across MP. The active caseload now stands at 12,324 patients as 1,225 recoveries were recorded in the last 24 hours. About 8 people succumbed to the infection during the same period, raising the toll to 1,062 deaths, as of April 20.
New guidelines to curb the COVID-19
As the COVID-19 situation in Madhya Pradesh is charting a continuous rise, the state has issued new guidelines to curb the infection surge in Indore, Bhopal and other districts crosswise. All offices and workspaces, including IT, BPO and mobile companies have been permitted to run operations at only 10% attendance. However, essential services have been exempted from this order.
Reportedly, only 2 passengers will be allowed to travel in auto-rickshaws and e-rickshaws while in private vehicles and taxis, 2 people along with a drive are allowed. The district authorities in Indore, Bhopal and Datai have also announced that no permissions will be granted to weddings till April 30 to avoid crowding and the rise of infection. The district collectors here have appealed to the people to postpone weddings and stay indoors.
