Lockdown extended in Lucknow, Kanpur & all UP districts till 7 AM on May 24!

In a strong move to curtail the spread of the coronavirus contamination in the territory, the state government has declared that lockdown restrictions will continue to be in place till 7 AM on May 24. While Lucknow, Kanpur and all districts of the state have completed 15 days of the corona curfew till now, it has been extended for 8 days more days. Given the high count of 1,93,815 active patients in the state, this intervention becomes necessary for breaking the chain of infections!

Lockdown announced in Lucknow, Kanpur & 4 other UP districts till April 26 to curb COVID-19 surge

Update: The state government has decided against it and there will be NO LOCKDOWN in Lucknow and the other 5 districts.

As per the orders of the Allahabad High Court, an absolute lockdown will be observed in Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Kanpur and Gorakhpur till April 26, given the swelling COVID-19 cases in the state. The movement of essential services will be allowed throughout the course of the lockdown. Previously, the administration had issued directives for the implementation of a night curfew in Lucknow from 8 PM to 7 AM and the authorities had also enforced Section 144, to tackle the surge in corona infections.

12 points you should know about the lockdown commencing from July 10 in Lucknow

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary through a circular on late Thursday evening announced a three-day lockdown in the state including Lucknow from 10 p.m. on Friday, July 10 to 5.a.m. on Monday, July 13.

This comes after a fresh lockdown was imposed in Kolkata and Patna. According to the government of UP, the lockdown will help in controlling the spread of the novel Coronavirus in Uttar Pradesh.
