The space for alternative cinema has been expanding and it is a fresh breath of air for film makers and artistes alike, for, with it, the scope of exploration widens. The independent cinema horizon in the city has evolved and with an improved film policy, it has roped in a greater audience.
One such endeavour, taken up by Lucknow’s Vedant Khanna, is the short film ‘3:00 AM‘. Khanna, who graduated from NMIMS last year, has embarked on a bright film career. And it was proved by a rather successful screening of the short at Pink Bramda in Lucknow.
A foreboding ebb follows: 3:00 AM
The short cinematic belongs to the horror genre and touches upon cultural and religious anecdotes. Like the name suggests, the events in the film take place around the demonic hour, that is 3 AM, where the power of evil is most formidable. In the eerie thriller, a despondent protagonist ventures outside his premises for fresh air around the hour and a foreboding ebb follows.
Directed, written, and played by Vedant Khanna, with actor Siddharth Singh and voice by Jhanvi Agarwal, the 8-minute short film is one crisp yet goosebump-inducing movie.
Premier at Pink Bramda
The premier, that was hosted by the vibrant Pink Bramda, saw a gathering of as many as 100 enthusiastic spectators and supporters. It was also graced by Additional Chief Secretary, Sports and Youth welfare, Navneet Sehgal.
‘3:00 AM’ successfully created ripples and sent chills across its audience, gathering immense praise and appreciation in turn. Available on YouTube, it is a must-watch short film for all movie buffs!
