Lucknow marks COVID respite as fresh case tallies fall below the 100-mark on Monday!

Amid the persistent fear of the coronavirus pandemic, Lucknow was awarded a major respite on Monday, when the daily surge was restricted within the 100-case cap. As per reports, around 84 fresh detections were recorded here in the past 24 hours, which highlight the positive yield of the present curfew restrictions. Parallelly, recovery outpaced the new case count to log in 158 discharges, effectively reducing the active load.

Approximately 11,000 people to be vaccinated at mega vaccine centres in Lucknow from June 1

Ahead of the mass vaccination programme in Lucknow, the District Magistrate on Sunday decided to buckle up preparations at the mega vaccination centres in the city. As per reports, the administration is aiming to inoculate about 11,000 citizens via these large scale units at the Chota Imambara, Ekana Stadium and KD Singh Babu Stadium here. Further directives have also been issued to ensure other facilities including drinking water, toilets, parking, pick up and drop bus service for women, the elderly and the differently-abled and even selfie points.

Ekana & KD Singh Babu Stadiums in Lucknow to double up as mega vaccination centres from June 1

To augment the provisions of the mass inoculation drive from June 1, the district administration has decided to convert KD Singh Babu Stadium and Atal Bihari Bajpai International Ekana Stadium into mega vaccination centres. As per reports, these centres will be able to host up to 1,000 beneficiaries at one time, expediting the immunity campaign against the surging threat of coronavirus. The Chhota Imamabara too will be converted into a vaccination site.
