Police stations in Lucknow to be equipped with new CCTV cameras to ensure stricter vigil

Standing true to its title of being the 'First CCTV City in India', Lucknow is all set to get new closed-circuit cameras to promote transparent operations in police stations. Around 600 CCTVs will be installed at 40 police stations of the Lucknow Police Commissionerate to keep strict vigil here. As per reports, this decision is part of the bigger plan, under which surveillance cameras will be set up at 1753 police stations, across various districts in UP.

5 new police stations to be set up in Lucknow

In wake of the increasing population, Lucknow will soon get 5 new police stations at different locations in the city. Proposed to be set up under Lucknow Police Commissionerate, these new establishments will help in upgrading the law enforcement infrastructure of the city. Taking the plans further, the proposal to institute these police stations has been sent to the Police Headquarters on behalf of the Commissioner.

Spike in Coronavirus cases in Lucknow, 450+ cases reported in last the 48 hours

Uttar Pradesh exceeds the figure of 2000 in the state's highest spike in the Coronavirus cases with about 2058 positive cases reported on Thursday. The state's capital Lucknow, is responsible for adding maximum to this load; about 308 cases, highest in the state and the city's highest ever. In another set of highs, Lucknow continues to be the city to record the highest number of cases in the state for about a week now. The Capital's total tally now after adding Friday's data stands at around 3386 cases.
