Connecting Lucknow to cities of eastern UP, Purvanchal Expressway to be commissioned soon!

Providing a new route of travel between Lucknow and Ghazipur, Purvanchal Expressway is all set to strengthen road connectivity across the eastern regions of Uttar Pradesh. As per Avanish Awasthi, the Chief Executive Officer of the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), 95% of the planned interventions have been materialised. Further, it is expected that the main carriageway would be made operational for the vehicles soon.

25.5 crore saplings planted in UP on Sunday as part of a mega plantation drive

Uttar Pradesh witnessed a mega plantation drive on Sunday, wherein around 25.5 crore saplings were planted in a single day! This step has been taken with the aim of expanding the state's overall forest cover, which presently stands at 3.05% against the national average of 2.89%. Reportedly, the UP government targets to plant 30 crore saplings in July.

Connecting Lucknow to other UP cities, Purvanchal Expressway all set to be launched next month!

Opening a new route of connectivity between Lucknow and Ghazipur, Purvanchal Expressway is all set to start operations in August. As per reports, the 6-lane facility stretches over a length of more than 340 Km, linking Lucknow with Azamgarh, Mau, Ghazipur, Faizabad, Sultanpur, Ambedkar Nagar and Amethi. Reportedly, the project has been executed at an approximate cost of more than ₹22,000 crores with an objective to propel economic progress in the far-flung areas of the state.

Upcoming Flyovers & Link Roads in Lucknow to rid commuters of traffic congestions

In an effort to reduce the road traffic congestion in Lucknow, the authorities have decided to link the Outer Ring Road to Purvanchal Expressway and Agra Expressway. This move will seamlessly connect these two expressways to each other and the bottlenecks at many areas which occur on a daily basis, can be substantially brought down. Further plans suggest that a cloverleaf flyover will be formed to connect the Outer Ring Road and Purvanchal Expressway, near Sultanpur Road, which will be linked to the expressway. Likewise, the Outer Ring Road near Kakori, will be directly affixed to the Agra Expressway.

Purvanchal Expressway connecting Lucknow to Ghazipur to go public in January

The Purvanchal Expressway is expected to be open for public in January. The expressway will pass through nine districts Lucknow, Barabanki, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Mau, Ambedkar Nagar and Ghazipur. Construction work of the expressway is almost 60 percent complete, as the authorities went on an aerial inspection of districts of Barabanki, Sultanpur and Azamgarh districts.
