SOPs issued ahead of the reopening of schools for standards 7 & 8 in Goa

Ahead of the reopening of schools for Classes VII and VIII across Goa scheduled tomorrow, the Directorate of Education has issued a comprehensive list of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). According to the reports, the detailed list of SOPs entails sixteen guidelines for the institutions along with a six-point criteria list for those who can attend the schools. Apart from this, it is now upto the school management to decide whether or not they would resume offline classes on the basis of the infrastructure and resources present at the moment.

Schools in Goa all set to welcome students back to campus from November 22!

After a nod by the special COVID Task Force, schools in Goa are all set to resume physical classes for students of standard I-VIII from Monday. Reportedly, Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) guidelines will be issued by the Education Department of the state before the resumption of offline classes. Additionally, the concerned department has also been directed to take school management into confidence before chalking out the modalities of re-opening schools.

Goa partially reopens schools from November 21 for Classes X & XII, in line with issued SOP

Goa has finally taken the final call to re-open schools for students of Classes X and XII from November 21. This partial reopening in Goa will be governed by an SOP released by the State Government to ensure the safety of students, teachers and other staff at educational institutions amid the coronavirus pandemic. All schools and educational institutions, including coaching centres were shut down in the state since March, with the precautionary imposition of the nationwide lockdown against the spread of COVID-19.

Schools in Goa to resume classes for students of 10th & 12th from November 21

As per a statement released by the Chief Minister of Goa on Tuesday, classes for X and XII standard students will resume from the 21st of November. This is being viewed as an important decision, given that these pupils will have to sit for their board examinations in the next few months. The CM, who also holds the position of the Education Minister of Goa, further said that a decision on the resumption of other classes would be taken sometime later. At this meeting, other officials of the education department were in attendance as well.

All schools & educational institutes in Goa to remain closed till July 31

All educational institutions in Goa will remain closed till July 31 in lieu of the rapid increase in the transmission of coronavirus in the state. With about 1549 active cases, Goa's total caseload currently stands at 4861. As a precautionary measure, the State Education Department has shut all school and education institutions in Goa. The department has also advised various school authorities and teachers to mentor students by focusing on online education.
