LU aims to establish academic collaborations with SAARC Nations
In a bid to foster regional cooperation and facilitate knowledge exchange, Lucknow University is taking significant steps towards establishing stronger academic and research ties with South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) nations.
As stated in an official press release, issued by Lucknow University, the institution has already initiated discussions and, in numerous instances, formalized agreements with several SAARC nations. As a starting point, the university is in talks with educational institutions of Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh.
UP govt in search of a new site for Vidhan Bhawan’s bicameral house
The government of Uttar Pradesh is currently in the process of identifying a suitable location for the new UP Vidhan Bhawan building in Lucknow. This new building will serve as a bicameral house and is necessitated by the limited space available in the current structure.
Potential sites under consideration for the establishment of the new building include the Chak Gajaria Farm area on Sultanpur Road, the Darul Shafa building (currently housing the UP Chief Minister’s office) and the Nawab Wajid Ali Shah Zoological Garden, which is being relocated to Kukrail area.

Additionally, the production of the indigenous BrahMos missile will extend to Lucknow, with a designated site identified in the Sarojininagar area of the city. Commencing in 2024, the forthcoming BrahMos facility in Lucknow is slated to manufacture an annual output of 80 to 100 missiles.
Highest-ever registration of over 3.3 lakh candidates for CAT 2023; IIM-L’s report
With a growing number of students aspiring to pursue PGDM and MBA degrees, the CAT exam has witnessed a record-high registration figure of over 3.3 lakh this year. This year’s organizing institute, IIM Lucknow, reports a 30% surge in registrations compared to the previous year, marking the highest numbers in its history. Among the 3.3 lakh candidates, 1.17 lakh are women.
The CAT 2023 exam is scheduled to take place nationwide on November 26.
