A Chaar Sahibzaade Park is slated to be constructed in the city behind Alambagh Gurudwara, to honour the martyrdom of the four sons (chaar sahibzade) of Guru Gobind Singh. The affair, a poignant Sikh event revolving the 10th Sikh Guru and his sons, who lost their lives in a battle against the Mughals, is historically relevant.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) and Northern Railway (NR) for the construction of the same on railway land in Alambagh. It was signed in the presence of the city mayor, Sanyukta Bhatia, who noted on the occasion, “The park will depict the sacrifices made by four sons of Guru Govind Singh. The foundation stone will be laid soon.”
This will also purportedly be the first Sahibzada Park in the country.
