The city’s pre-eminent Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya has been a token of pride and one of Lucknow’s cultural identities for almost a century now. Established in 1926 by Vishnu Narayan Bhatkhande, being declared a deemed university by UGC in 2000, upgrading to a state university in 2022, among others, Bhathkhande has evolved and kept up with social modifications quite perfectly, one might suggest.
And just one such immersive development happened in 2009 when Bhathkhande’s then vice-chancellor Shruti Sadolikar Katkar rolled out monthly musical evening shows, called Sangeet Sandhya. The heart of sangeet and qala, the university is now resuming the talent-rich shows after a hiatus of three years due to COVID.

These aforementioned programmes, that are the ideal representation of the place being the cynosure of music and performing arts, are restarting from today.
Exhibiting the polished skills of young artistes, the Sangeet Sandhya aims at both providing a stage to the students of the university as well as putting up great shows for all music lovers. Here, the public is invited to feast their eyes on the display of exquisite local talent of the up and coming artistes and performers.

The shows, that are scheduled to be hosted by the end of every month from now on, will take place at the university auditorium from 4 PM onwards on February 28.
