A legacy that has been pivotal to the religious celebrations of Holi, the Pholon ki Holi is a unique concept that has been a part of Aryavart Insitute’s cultural programmes since its inception in 2005. The limelight of this event reflects a folklore that is usually plays out in the interiors of Uttar Pradesh, and typically resemble what is popularly known as the ‘Raasleela’. Pointedly, the Aryavart Group of Institutes in Lucknow is the only educational forum across the state to bring forth the faith of this festival, right from the lanes of Brindavan, Braj and Mathura to its students.
In step with the legacy of grand celebrations, more than a thousand students, teachers and faculty associated with the event this time around too, building it from the scratch. From the mega flower showers to traversing the paths of bhakti and bhajans, the Pholon ki Holi added another dimension to the festivities of Holi, beyond the material world. To notch it all up, programmes, events, dance, music and a whole lot of fun enunciated the vivid flair, perfuming the city and our minds like never before!
Aryavart Insitute believes that the Holi spectacle is far more sublime and simple than the exorbitant pomp and show it has now translated into. And carrying this ideology forward, the pholon ki varsha and pholon ki holi are symbolic of the natural vibrance that the festival alludes to. The idea is to encourage celebrations that are away from toxic colours, synthetic and artificial rang and chemically harmful substances to steer students towards the age-old traditions and joys of the festival.
