Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport in Ahmedabad continues to surprise passengers by rapidly expanding existing infrastructure. To efficiently tackle the increasing passenger traffic, the Ahmedabad Airport has now opened a new Security Hold Area (SHA) at it’s domestic terminal.
This new SHA area on the domestic terminal ground floor is double the size of the previous SHA area.
Ahmedabad airport continues to provide better infrastructure
The newly launched SHA area on the ground floor of the domestic terminal is approximately 1400 square meters and features four e-gates for faster passenger verification, a larger area for security checks with additional X-ray machines, and metal detector doors. Two new bus boarding gates have also been installed and linked to the new SHA.
Moreover, after the security check, the seating capacity has increased fourfold, from 160 to 648. Recently, passenger footfalls at SVPI airport touched an all-time high of 37,960 passengers in one day. The improved infrastructure and expanded space will increase efficiency and allow for multiple departures from the domestic terminal.
