India’s first high-speed rail project, the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor, also known as Bullet Train, is progressing rapidly, with the First Phase expected to be operational by 2026.

According to officials, the target has been set to conduct the first trial run
of the bullet train, between Surat and Bilimora by 2026. Once fully operational, India will join the ranks of 15 countries which have high-speed train networks.
