COVID curve takes a downward trajectory in Indore with 1,679 new cases recorded on Sunday!

Bringing a sigh of relief for the residents in Indore, the daily counts of fresh cases have been marked by marginal dips for four days in a row. With 1,679 new cases and 1,371 recoveries registered on Sunday, the active tallies for Indore stand at 16,828. As of now, 1,204 fatalities have been recorded in the city, most of which were observed in the last 30 days. Though a further lowering of the COVID curves is anticipated, it will take some time before the city's overwhelmed medical infrastructure gets relaxed.

In view of the escalating oxygen crisis propelled by a spike in critical COVID cases, the Chartered Accountants Association had launched an initiative to increase the supplies of oxygen concentrators. With the help of contributions from Indore folks, who are residing in foreign nations, the group raised a large amount and ordered 45 concentrators from the Netherlands.

While the stock first arrived at Mumbai, the life-saving resources were delivered to Indore within two days. As per reports, this project was financed by a sum of nearly ₹30 lakhs, with included donations from the CA association and from overseas citizens.

Received as aid from a social group in the state, a 500-litre refrigerator is now housed at the Mahatama Gandhi Memorial Medical College in Indore. Given that the Remdesivir comes in a liquid profile, this development shall not only facilitate better preservation but also help in enhanced availability. Additionally, the hospital authorities had observed a need for this in recent times and it stands fulfilled now. With this intervention, patients in government hospitals will be assisted with an amplified supply of Remdesivir.

Further, the medical college has also initiated plans to procure around 100 oxygen concentrators with the help of funds, valuing 1.5 crores, reportedly. These devices shall be helpful in supporting such patients that do not require high-flow oxygen. In addition to this, reports state that a part of the funds will also be used to get D-Dimer kits.
