Following suit from the initiatives taken by some major cities across the country, Indore Municipal Corporation had started a project to set up a garden using waste materials. As per reports, the inventive park called Jyotibha Phule 4R Nana Nani Garden was opened to the public on Tuesday. The inaugural event was graced by the presence of the Tourism Minister and senior representatives from IMC.

At the launch event of the garden, the minister asserted that the latest park would soon evolve as a spot for city people to enrich their health and wellbeing in addition to providing a space for recreational activities. Speaking about the construction of the park, Indore’s Municipal Commissioner stated that discarded articles were collected from all waste disposal systems in the city and the trenching grounds. Transforming the look of some of these materials, they were used in the beautification of the Park campus.
She further informed that some artifacts adorning the park have been made from wood blocks, rope, tires, ply and other things sourced from the waste collection of Marathi School. On similar lines, iron rods, plastic bottles and other waste particles have been used to develop models of cow and a bullock cart amongst others.
The garden also houses a well which is closed with a network of metallic strings. Assuring an enjoyable visit for the children, the park also has multiple swings. It is proposed that the new park will be used for conducting activities like self defence classes and other workshops in the near future.

Addressing the gathering at the inaugural function, the minister requested the residents of Sangam Nagar to install a rainwater harvesting system in their households. As per reports, she stated that such interventions would be conducive towards enhancing the groundwater level in the region which shall definitely benefit the citizens in the future.
In the current age of recurrent innovations and developments, such measures by the district administration, like the establishment of this park, become necessary for ensuring sustainable progress.
