Indore Railway coaching depot and Dr. BR Ambedkar Nagar coaching care depot have become the first such centres in India to bag the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) GreenCo Silver certification.
The criteria to win this certification is adoption of several green initiatives including, energy efficiency, water conservation, renewable energy, waste management, and green building, among others. This certification comprises 5 levels, namely Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. The GreenCo certification is valid for three years, under which the railway facilities will receive several exemptions.
