Knocksense Shorts | Schools in Indore up to class 8 closed due to rising cold
The cold wave seems to have taken over the northern parts of India. With winter hitting Madhya Pradesh hard, schools in Indore, Bhopal, Vidisha and Ujjain for classes up to 8 have been closed till January 10, 2023. The maximum temperature in Indore on January 5 was recorded at 19.2°C, which was 6 degrees below normal, similarly, the minimum temperature was recorded at 8.4°C, which was one degree below normal.
Other regions from MP such as Datia, Khajuraho, Guna, Gwalior and Sagar saw minimum temperatures of 2.5, 2.6, 3.0, 4.2 and 4.6°C, respectively. Meanwhile, the homeless found respite in the night shelters run by Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) and people prepared bonfires at many places to brace against the chill, especially at night.
