Amid the extended episode of the monsoons, rains are expected in Jaipur this weekend with forecasts of heavy showers across the eastern regions of Rajasthan. Subsequently, the eastern parts of the desert state will reel under orange alert from July 30 to August 1 while a yellow alert has been issued for Jaipur for the 30th and 31st July. Reportedly, spells of rains along with thunderstorms may be witnessed in the pink city today.
Maximum temperatures to hover over 30 degrees for the next 3 days
As per reports, the spiraling weather conditions over the northwestern areas of the country are driven by cyclonic circumstances over Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. In view of this, the top authorities have issued the advisory to make sure that a certain level of preparedness is maintained in the state. While the forecasts indicate heavy showers across isolated areas only, the governing bodies must be ready for any adverse observances.
Under the yellow alert issued for Jaipur, the citizens have been asked to be aware of the upcoming weather conditions. While significant showers are expected today, the residents may witness cloudy skies accompanied by moderate rains tomorrow. Further, the forecasts show that the maximum mercury levels will hover over 30 degrees for the coming 3 days.
Revived south-west monsoons bring rains in Rajasthan
The monsoon wave returned in the state, with light to moderate rains witnessed in parts of Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Kota and Ajmer on July 27. While it brought momentarily respite for the residents, the humidity levels spiked again in the period that followed.
Reportedly, the cumulative rainfall in Rajasthan stands in the normal category while ‘deficient’ rainfall figures have been recorded across the eastern regions of the state. Notably, the rainfall numbers logged for the capital city have been in the below normal range, compared to the long-term average.
