Health officials confirmed that more than 1.40 crore people out of the eligible 7 crore were vaccinated in the state by the end of last week. These statistics indicate the grit and determination of the health employees, who continued the vaccine drive despite the rising threat of infections and a gross shortage of supplies, all across the state territory.
Meanwhile, the persistent scale of active cases in Rajasthan lingers on as the worrying factor. Presently, the state ranks fifth in the nations in terms of its active caseload, which exceeded the 2.03 lakh cases mark on Monday. However, a marginal boost in the recovery rate harbours respite here. Through the last two weeks, the rate of recuperation has surged from 71% to 73% and with a scale higher, as per suggested trends.
COVID-19 update
In the last 24 hours, about 16,487 fresh cases and 13,4999 recoveries were clocked in the state, which led to a surge of 2,828 active cases on Monday. On the other hand, the toll stands at 5,825 virus-related deaths as of Monday evening. Here, state capital Jaipur accounts for the highest share of COVID-19 tallies. While the city’s caseload surged by 2,918 fresh infections in a single day on Monday, recoveries were marked at 2,893 discharged only. Additionally, 61 virus casualties were also recorded here.
