Amid the warnings of a ‘second wave’ in Rajasthan, the Pink City is all set to host 3000 weddings in the month of November and now the district magistrate has made the process of registering for weddings, online. The decision was taken after hundreds of people lined up outside the collectorate till Monday, to submit their documents. The queue was hampering the entire idea behind social distancing and now with this reform, conditions are set to get better.
What are the required documents?
Now, people will not have to wait outside the collectorate for permission to organize a wedding in the district. According to officials, people can apply for wedding permission through mail. They just need to submit details like ID documents of bride and groom, proof of DOB for both the parties, ID documents of couple’s parents, the address of bride and groom with the details of the concerned police station, the marriage venue address and wedding invitation card.
Penalty of ₹25,000 to be charged if guest count exceeds limit
People in Jaipur were mobbing SDO offices and it became a task to ensure social distancing guidelines during the process of registration. Earlier, the Rajasthan government had imposed a limitation on the number of people attending a wedding and the guest count has been finally pegged at 100. A penalty of ₹25,000 to be charged on violation of the order.
