Josh Community website launched in Jaipur to provide free sanitary pads to females in schools & NGOs

Josh Social Exchange program attempts to empower women and girls from the underprivileged sections of the society.

With an aim to benefit females in the city, an innovative Josh Community website was recently launched in Jaipur. On this online portal, schools and NGOs across the city can get registered and place orders for sanitary pads, at no cost. Reportedly, the Co-Founder and Director of the organisation, Roma Vaidya, informed that this facility named 'Josh Social Exchange' attempts to provide free sanitary napkins to women and girls from the underprivileged sections of the society.

First order of 100 sanitary napkins delivered under the initiative

As per reports, acclaimed actress, Pallavi Purohit inaugurated the project at a medical store in Jaipur's Vaishali Nagar and at a government school in Sodala. Josh Social Exchange program has also initiated a 'click and pick' facility. Under this scheme, products can be picked up from one of the stores of the associated pharmacy.

Additionally, NGOs shall also aid in the process of home delivery to the doorstep. As per reports, the first consignment of around 100 sanitary pads has already been disbursed, benefitting girls and women in 5 NGOs of the city, government schools and slum dwellings.

Tech-based start-up started by 5 women

Further, individuals can list items like furniture, electronic products, clothes, computer and other things on the website which would be provided to the registered NGOs having such requirements. Josh Community is a technology-based start-up that was founded by 5 women, who are running it from different regions like Hyderabad, Mumbai and Singapore. The organisation works for the empowerment of women and children from deprived sections of the society.
