Night curfew to extend in Jaipur & 12 other Rajasthan districts

Jaipur currently has a confirmed cumulative count of 58,389 COVID patients with 1,173 active cases.

With the release of a circular dated 15th January, the state's home department has extended the existing night curfews in Jaipur and the other 12 districts of Rajasthan till further notice. While the provisions of the last order regarding caution and containment are being continued, the state government's recent decision to open schools, higher education institutes, coaching centres and medical colleges will remain to be in place.

Issued by the Principal Secretary of the home department, the extension order states that the present guidelines must be followed till a new notice is announced. Other than Jaipur, night curfews from 8 PM to 6 AM will continue to be in place in Kota, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Udaipur, Ajmer, Alwar, Bhilwara, Nagore, Pali, Tonk, Sikar and Ganganagar.

In the last order dated 2nd January, all the offices, markets and commercial complexes were directed to pull their shutters down by 7, so that the workers and employees can reach their homes by 8. Work-places will be permitted to function during these hours only if they possess an authorized order from the district collector and no special pass shall be provided in this regard. To prevent the ascent of COVID positive numbers, police officials have been making sure that strict adherence to all the norms is being followed.

While Rajasthan begins first drive of COVID vaccination in line with the national launch today, 4,073 individuals out of every 10 lakh people in the state have tested positive for the virus. During the new year, the number of daily detections has reduced making the COVID curve milder. The state's confirmed cumulative tally of COVID patients stood at 3,14,682 with 5608 active cases on Saturday. Jaipur has registered a cumulative total f 58,389 COVID patients with 1,173 active cases so far.
