In around a month and a half, Kanpur Metro will celebrate its third birthday. The first section of Kanpur Metro was launched on December 28, back in 2021. Aimed at providing ‘world-class transportation’ to Kanpurites, the project is an ambitious one with future expansions planned to cover the entire city. However, only the 9 km stretch from IIT Kanpur to Motijheel has become operational in these three years. Additionally, next month, a new stretch featuring 5 underground stations is also expected to become operational.

Empty except on Sundays; People eagerly await expansion
