Offering a ride cheaper than autos & e-rickshaws, Lucknow Metro is your budget travel companion!

Lucknow Metro is here to give you a safe & comfortable ride, without burning a hole in your pockets.

Bringing to Lucknowites a renovated system for local travel, the Lucknow Metro has become a part and parcel of the city within 4 years of its inception. With a list of proactive measures that the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation has implemented to beat the pandemic block, the Lucknow Metro recently registered the fastest recovery in ridership post the COVID lockdown. Now, it has added another feather to its cap emerging as the cheapest means of local travel, leaving behind autos & e-rickshaws in terms of low-costs.

Almost 75% lower costs than an auto-fare

According to the latest information released by UPMRC, Lucknow Metro charges less from its commuters than the other means of public transport, like- e-rickshaw & auto. While e-rickshaw and autos may cost ₹8.33 and ₹10.26 respectively for a km of your journey, Lucknow metro offers a ride at a much lower price of ₹2.56. However, it is important to note that these figures have been computed for a journey stretching over 9 Km.

After the revival of the metro during the pandemic, UPMRC became the first in the nation to implement UV-ray token sanitisation and now, it is slated to use the UV-based disinfection method for its coaches too. While these initiatives speak of the multiple ways in which Lucknow metro cares for its passenger's wellbeing, the information about it being the cheapest only adds to its attractions.

Safe parking lots for your vehicles, assuring you a care-free travel

Lucknow metro not just considers your safety as its topmost priority but safeguards your vehicles too in its station campuses. The parking facilities available at different stations keep a watch on your vehicles through CCTV cameras assuring you, a care-free metro ride. The parking lots are available as part of the building complexes at many stations including- Mawaiyya, Indira Nagar, Munshipulia, Transport Nagar, etc. Additionally, K.D. Singh Babu Stadium, Hazratganj, Alambagh and Bhootnath metro stations have well-established parking facilities in their surrounding areas.

While a number of metro travel systems across the country have garnered humongous public footfall in the previous decade, your experience in Lucknow is assuredly going to be a more comfortable one. With lesser crowding and well-managed stations, Lucknow metro not only guarantees you cost-effective travel but a soothing one too. Already hailed as the city's pride, it is not a long time ahead when Lucknow metro will become the backbone of the local travel system in the city.
