Following the launch of electric double-decker buses in Lucknow in November 2024, the city administration has introduced a new plan to expand the operations. While these buses operate as a weekday commuter service, they will now be repurposed for a dedicated heritage tour on weekends.
The heritage tour will feature two special routes: Lucknow Darshan and Shaam-e-Awadh, offering passengers a scenic journey through the city’s historic landmarks. Additionally, women passengers will enjoy a 50% waiver during these heritage tours.
After Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad & Thiruvananthapuram, Lucknow becomes the fifth city to introduces electric double-decker buses (EV-DD) in the country. 😍😍 https://t.co/R8gSUgBGA5

The heritage tour service, initially proposed during the launch of the double-decker buses, has now been finalised. Divisional Commissioner Dr. Roshan Jacob re-announced the facility as part of the city’s heritage tourism project, and it is set to kick off in the coming days.
Currently, the double-decker buses run on a 30-km route, connecting Awadh Bus Stand in Kamta to Lucknow Airport via Shaheed Path, with key stops at Singar Nagar, Transport Nagar and Amausi.
