Lucknowites have received a special gift from the Nagar Nigam in the form of a brand new ‘I love Lucknow’ installation at the Gomti Nagar 1090 crossing. Adding a cool edge to the city’s scenic beauty, this installation will serve as a selfie point for city dwellers. As part of the Lucknow Smart City initiative, the new installation was inaugurated by the Lucknow Mayor, Sanyukta Bhatia, on Tuesday who also got clicked with the locals attending this ceremonial event!

Redefining love and beauty in Lucknow
Lucknow is now tracing a new path to beautification with new ‘I love Lucknow’ selfie points across the city. While one was opened for public use by the Lucknow Mayor on Tuesday at the 1090 crossing, another one stands proudly at Qaiserbagh, in a park opposite to the Lakhi gate. Adding the touch of beauty, the Nagar Nigam is redefining our love for Lucknow and now all people visiting these locations can get that Instagram-worthy shot, against the newest backdrop.
New dustbins installed along the Lohia Path
Meanwhile, the civic authorities have also installed roadside segregation dust-bins in an attempt to keep the city clean and green. These dust bins have been instituted in sets of three – colour coded in yellow, blue and green to help locals segregate their waste while in public places. While the regular blue and green bins will help Lucknowites discard dry and wet waste, respectively, a new yellow bin has been added, keeping the COVID situation in mind.
These bins can be used to throw expired medicines, used syringes and wastes like masks, PPE kits, gloves, caps and napkins. Sanitary wastes, like diapers and sanitary pads, can also be disposed of in these bins. Waste segregation is a major theme of the Swachh Survekshan 2021 and these new additions will help Lucknow to rank higher in the annual cleanliness survey.
