UP Tourism is set to get a boost with the coming up of new museums in 7 districts, including Lucknow, Sonbhadra, Lakhimpur Kheri, Gorakhpur, Meerut, Varanasi and Kannauj. Apart from these 7 locations, construction of the tribal Tharu Janjati Museum is also underway. The museum has reached its final leg of completition and will open soon for the public.

Apart from the tribal museums, a Natural Science Museum will also come up in Meerut and Gorakhpur while a Sant Ravidas Museum will be established in Varanasi. In addition to this, a museum dedicated to children is also expected to come up in Kannauj, soon.
Meanwhile, the state government is also taking various measures to preserve, promote and popularise the cultural identity of UP.
Under the ambit of this initiative, the administration is planning on starting a community radio- Jai Ghosh at the Sangeet Natak Akademi.
As a part of the government’s six-month action plan, ‘One District-One Special Cultural Event’ will also be organised in every district now.
