All educational institutes in UP to remain shut for 2 days due to incessant rains

Owing to the continuous downpour, the government of Uttar Pradesh has decided to shut down schools, colleges and all the other educational institutes in the state for 2 days. As per the notification issued by the state government on Thursday, all educational centres will remain closed on Friday and Saturday. Various districts of the state, including the capital city Lucknow, have witnessed incessant rainfall for the past 40 hours.

Many parts of Uttar Pradesh, including the state capital, have experienced heavy rainfall since Thursday morning. The unremitting rain has led to water clogging and other problems, hindering public movements across a lot of areas. Keeping in mind the safety of students, the administration has decided that all educational institutes in the state will remain shut on September 17 and 18.

Additionally, the notice released by the Chief Minister's office also made an appeal to the citizens to stay cautious during this period. Reportedly, the District Magistrate of Lucknow, Abhishek Prakash also requested the public to step out of their houses, only if it is necessary.

Relentless rainfall likely to continue in UP for a day: IMD

Apart from Lucknow, other districts of the state that have witnessed heavy downpour yesterday. This includes Kanpur, Pratapgarh, Jaunpur, Ayodhya, Fursatganj, Gorakhpur, Hamirpur, Barabanki and Kaushambi. As per the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Uttar Pradesh is expected to encounter heavy rains in the next 24 hours as well. Moreover, North India is likely to be affected by the impact of the monsoons till the end of this month, as per the IMD forecast.
