Mumbai has officially dethroned Delhi to become India’s most forgetful city, according to Uber’s 9th annual Lost and Found Index. Based on rider reports, the city saw a surge in forgotten items, from everyday wallets and phones to bizarre ones, like a gold biscuit, a wedding saree, and even 25 kg of cow ghee! Further, Delhi’s two-year winning streak comes to an end with this.

While Delhi slipped to second place, Pune jumped to third. Hyderabad, in contrast, earned bragging rights as the most careful metro, reporting the fewest lost items.
Saturdays were found to be peak forgetfulness days, especially around 7 PM. Red items topped the list of forgotten colors, and Samsung users reported the most losses among phone brands.
Among the top 10 quirky items left behind in Ubers this year, were a cooking stove, a bansuri (flute), a hair wig, and even a hawan kund.
The silver lining? Uber’s in-app “Lost Item” feature makes recovery simple. So the next time you misplace your passport or a packet of ghee, there’s hope—just don’t forget your phone while reporting it!
