Schools in Goa all set to welcome students back to campus from November 22!

After a nod by the special COVID Task Force, schools in Goa are all set to resume physical classes for students of standard I-VIII from Monday. Reportedly, Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) guidelines will be issued by the Education Department of the state before the resumption of offline classes. Additionally, the concerned department has also been directed to take school management into confidence before chalking out the modalities of re-opening schools.

Goa receives its 1st set of 23,500 Covishield doses; 19,000 health workers to benefit

After 23,500 vaccine doses reached the state capital from Mumbai on Wednesday, Goa is getting ready to start the first COVID-19 immunization drive. A stock of 2,350 vials currently placed in the secured cold storage, would be delivered to the assigned inoculation centres 24 hours before the launch of the maiden activity. The Chief Minister announced that a total of 19,000 employees of government and private healthcare facilities were categorised for the first phase of the vaccination.

In wake of surging test requests, Goa to charge for RT-PCR examination done for travel purposes

Goa will not be conducting any coronavirus test for travel purposes and those willing to get tested can get it done by paying the charges at district hospitals. The decision was taken after a surge in test requests by people from Maharashtra, who have been staying or holidaying here, since their state has made RT-PCR negative report mandatory for people coming in from Goa.
