Flood-like situations crop up across various parts of Goa due to incessant rains!

After the early arrival of monsoons, heavy rains were witnessed across different parts of Goa in the past few days. Driven by heavy showers, certain parts of both North and South Goa are faced with flood-like circumstances. Reportedly, this includes Sattari and Bicholim areas in the north district Dharbandora in the south district. As per reports, authorities informed that some homes in low-lying regions have submerged underwater and a strict vigil is being maintained now.

As per reports, the unit has issued an advisory to warn against such scenarios, urging people to stay away from rocky cliffs and choppy waters, especially during the monsoon season. IMD issues Orange Alert in Goa from June 11-13

The Indian Meteorological Department has raised an orange grade rain alert in Goa, from June 11 to 13 to ensure the state's preparedness for the upcoming intense southwest monsoon activity. From today onwards, the coastal state is expected to be washed by very heavy to extremely heavy rains. As per forecasts, this condition will stretch for a week here. The IMD will also keep precautionary tabs on areas prone to flooding and landslides to mitigate the calamity impact in case of an emergency.

IMD tracks the arrival of Southwest Monsoon in Goa & Maharashtra by early next week

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday, stated that the Southwest Monsoon is likely to hit the coast of Goa and some parts of Maharashtra in the next two to three days. Following its normal course, northwards from Kerala, the summer showers will also advance towards Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu by early next week, bringing respite from the oppressive weathers.
