As per reports, the body will work for the addition and up-gradation of facilities in the park, in a bid to bring back its lost glory. While the renovation plans for one of the city's oldest parks have been underway for over 3 years now, it is expected that the project will be finished by December 2021.
Swings & fountain to transform the park into a hub of attractions!
While the project was started under the leadership of the Indore's civic body firstly, the Smart City authority has taken over it now. Reportedly, the park is being redeveloped at a cost of more than ₹7 crores. Under this program, an array of novel additions will be witnessed and the park would be transformed into a hub of multiple attractions.
Reportedly, the park would get a new fountain encircled by a chain of refreshing plants. In addition to this, the officials have also decided to boost the greenery at the park with the plantation of evergreen plants and trees. Further, the proposed introductions of a toy train and swings are expected to gravitate a large count of kids. Notably, the entrance gate of the park has been changed and now, there will be a single gate for the visitors. Besides this, a library will also be set up.
With a history of more than 50 years, Nehru Park was the only garden in the city to have a toy train and the facility will be resumed in the days to come. Earlier, it was named BISCO-PARK and a string of food joints around its premises attracted a large number of people. While no entry fee was charged from the citizens initially, the authorities have now planned to introduce a small fee and passes will be provided to regular morning and evening joggers.
