Kanpur's first indoor multi-sports  complex nears completion

Kanpur to soon get smart parking spaces with the facility of digital payments for citizens

Kanpur Municipal Corporation and Smart City Limited are together working on the development of smart parking spaces in the city. As per reports, Commissioner Dr. Raj Shekhar inspected three out of the 43 such parking lots being set up across the district, under the Smart City Project. This scheme will propel a digital revamp for the city's parking infrastructure through the introduction of a mobile application, equipped with umpteen options for digital payments.

42 sensor-based 'smart parking' spaces to be operational in Kanpur soon!

'Smart City' Kanpur is all set for an upgrade with 42 'smart parking' spaces across town, with sensors imported from Barcelona, Spain. The advanced instruments will detect the number of vehicles in a parking lot and the availability of vacant spaces. This will roll out a system of digital ease for the people, enabling them to pre-book parking places while avoiding traffic or chaos, due to unavailability at a later point.

IIM Indore to assist in Kanpur's development under the Smart City initiative!

Civic authorities in Kanpur have signed a pact with the Indian Institute of Management-Indore, to develop Kanpur district, under the smart city initiative. Reportedly, IIM-Indore, Kanpur Smart City Limited (KSCL), Kanpur Development Authority (KDA) and Kanpur Police Commissionerate together entered into an MoU for fueling the city's progress. Under this scheme, the "Indore model" of cleanliness will be executed for developing Kanpur as a cosmopolitan industrial centre.

Kanpur bags 28th rank in the Ease of Living Index among 111 cities across the country

Kanpur has managed to bag the 28th position in the Ease of Living Index (EoLI) 2020 released by the Ministry of Urban and Housing Affairs. Reportedly, the department had picked 111 cities across the country, with the intention of ranking 49 out of these and Kanpur has found its way in Top-30, with an average score of about 53.51 points.
