The ultimate breakfast spread

This cosy restaurant that dishes out purely vegetarian food, is the perfect spot to get your South Indian food fix.

For early risers, Madras Diaries’ houses a delish breakfast menu that includes Rawa Upma, spiced Vermicelli, sautéed Poha with in-house special chutney, Rice Pongal, and a yummy pot of Sabudana Khichdi – each priced at ₹125 only. Make sure that you drop by between 7:30 am to 11:00 am to enjoy the breakfast delights here.

Apart from the above, there’s an all-day menu filled with classic items, that fetch a tasteful play of flavours. We recommend the Idli Platter (₹225), Chettinad Masala Dosa (₹175), Ragi Uthappam (₹165), Rassam Vada (₹130) alongside the gooey Sapota Keshri (₹175). Simply put, the selections at Madras Diaries are simply irresistible.

This mix of South Indian culinary art with locally-sourced ingredients from Mumbai, creates a beautifully balanced and harmonised dining experience. And the best part, it’s not really heavy on the pocket!

A beautiful blend of ethnic patterns and textures

Madras Diaries is a venture by Neeti Goel and Farhan Azmi. The interiors of this South Indian restaurant is a blend of ethnic patterns and textures designed by Sumessh Menon Associates.

The quaint charm of brick-clad walls, vintage wooden doors from Chennai, chirpy yellow colour of the windows, pinewood tables, and a quirky elephant artwork on the host desk, all echo the colourful energy of Madras Diaries. They also have a charming outdoor area with 9-seater space under a gorgeous floral canopy.

Healthy and delicious, Madras Diaries is an ode to all things South Indian. Follow their Instagram handle for more delicious updates.

Address: Muzaffar Manor, Shop No. 7, Ground Floor, 28th Rd, Bandra West, Mumbai.
