Massive campaign to control stray cattle menace
Most of the UP cities have long struggled with persistent issues like traffic congestion and street accidents due to stray cattle, particularly cows and bulls. Stray cattle many a times have been a cause of street accidents on National Highways too.
To address this long-standing problem, the animal husbandry division of the UP government is set to launch a comprehensive statewide campaign on November 1. As part of this campaign, stray cattle will be relocated to cow shelters, contributing to the alleviation of congestion and the reduction of cattle-related incidents on the streets.
Police pink booths to be set up in religious sites of UP
As part of the state government’s Safe City projects, 20 religious locations across various districts in UP have been identified for the establishment of police pink booths. These booths, staffed with women constables, aim to enhance the safety and security of women in cities such as Varanasi, Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Mathura, Gorakhpur, Agra, Balrampur and Chitrakoot.
Retirement age for the doctors in UP healthcare facilities increased to 65
Doctors working in government healthcare facilities in UP now have the option to retire at the age of up to 65 years, an extension from the previous retirement age of 62. This change is in response to the shortage of doctors within the state’s healthcare facilities.
4th phase of Mission Shakti to be launched in UP on Oct 14
In a concerted effort to empower women and foster self-reliance, the Uttar Pradesh government is set to inaugurate the fourth phase of Mission Shakti on October 14. This launch will include vehicle rallies, primarily targeting rural areas of the state, with the intent of raising awareness about government schemes designed to empower women.
‘Hot Cooked Meal’ for children enrolled in UP primary schools, Anganwadi centres
With the upcoming Navratri festival, the state government has introduced special meals for students attending government primary schools and Anganwadi centres in UP.
As part of the ‘Hot Cooked Meal’ initiative, children will receive nutritious millet-based meals, along with fruits, whole-grain biscuits and other essential components for their midday meals, ensuring both flavour and nutritional value.
