For speedy availability of blood to the needy, and better health facilities to people of rural areas, a new blood storage unit became operative at CHC Kalyanpur, from March 1st. With the establishment of this Community Health Centre (CHC) Unit, anaemia patients and pregnant women with low haemoglobin will get immediate treatment.
Recently, the centre even went through a detailed inspection of the emergency department, labor room, in-patient department, out-patient department, pathology lab, pharmacy room, general administration and allied services.
For now, only two CHCs – one in Kalyanpur and the other in Sarsaul have been given the licence to operate as blood storage units. Further, the unit in Kalyanpur receives blood from UHM hospital blood bank.
