A new traffic system has been introduced at two intersections in Lucknow, IT Chauraha and the New Pucca Pul, aimed at smooth traffic flow without light signals or on-duty cops. This new system is part of the larger goal envisioned by Lucknow Police to achieve the ‘Zero light, Zero Cop’ system across the city.

Starting on its mission, the Police have installed barriers at strategic points to avoid congestion and introduced a number of alternate routes to ensure a smooth flow of traffic. The system makes taking a U-turn seamless and easy and is currently being implemented on a trial basis.
Notably, 10 police officers have been put on duty at each of the two intersection to oversee the implementation of the new system. If found to be working well, the system will be replicated at more intersections.
