The forest department has yet again revised its rescue strategy to capture the tiger roaming in the Rehmankhera area of Lucknow. In a precautionary move, all schools, colleges and coaching institutes in the affected area have been ordered to shut down.
The directive came in coordination with the new DFO who has been assigned to take over the rescue operation. To ensure the safety of students, Lucknow District Magistrate Surya Pal Gangwar has directed the educational institutes in the affected area to shift to online classes.

The tiger roaming in the Rehmankhera area continues to evade capture, intensifying efforts by the Forest Department. On Thursday, the tiger was spotted near the Behta stream at ICAR-Central Institute for Subtropical Horticulture, during combing operations but managed to escape once again. So far, the tiger has hunted 14 animals, raising serious concerns among local residents.
The command of the rescue operation has been reassigned to Barabanki DFO Akashdeep Badhawan. To bolster the mission, an expert veterinarian from Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary has also been called in to assist with the rescue efforts.
In a bid to trap the elusive animal, the department has introduced new measures. As part of the revised strategy, a 15-foot deep and 10-foot long pit has been dug in the jungle using a JCB machine. This approach aims to restrict the tiger’s movement and facilitate its capture.
