Two Iranian warships, IRIS Boushehr and IRIS Lavan, have arrived in Mumbai for a goodwill and training mission aimed at enhancing maritime collaboration between India and Iran. The visit, spanning from the 25th to 28th February 2025, highlights the growing naval ties between the two nations.
The Indian Navy extended a warm welcome to the ships with a ceremonial reception. Leading the deployment is Captain Mohammad Saberi as Mission Commander, with Senior Captain Seyed Ali Madani commanding IRIS Lavan and Commander Hamed Bahramian heading IRIS Boushehr. Around 220 officer cadets are participating in this training mission in the Indian Ocean. The visit includes sports activities, training sessions, and a tour of the Naval Dockyard, offering practical exposure for Iranian cadets.
This visit reinforces India-Iran maritime collaboration, emphasising regional security and diplomatic engagement.
