Indian Railways is set to introduce the new Namo Bharat train between Lucknow and Kanpur, to ease daily travel. The fully air-conditioned service will offer metro-style amenities and faster connectivity. Alongside the Lucknow–Kanpur corridor, the Meerut–Saharanpur route is also under consideration for Namo Bharat operations, due to high commuter volume.

Namo Bharat is a semi-high-speed train, designed for short-distance routes. Major highlights include:

Railway Minister further confirmed that preparations have been completed for:
