Soon after the post gained traction, Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd (MMMOCL) publicly acknowledged his gesture. The authority also called out the business responsible, The Sobo Nail Salon, and confirmed that a penalty is being imposed.
Social media cheers the citizen’s initiative
X users quickly celebrated Nadar’s effort, calling it a refreshing display of civic responsibility. Comments praised the clean look of the freshly painted pillars and encouraged more people to take similar action.
MMMOCL reminded the public that unauthorised posters and ads on Metro premises violate Section 62(2) of the Operation and Maintenance Act, 2002. The corporation reiterated that Metro Line 2B belongs to the people of Mumbai, and keeping it clean is a shared responsibility.
