If issues of parking, no space to walk on roads and heavy traffic, have been interrupting your Ganjing experience, you can expect your problems to be gone very soon.
After Sapru Marg, Lucknow Development Authority has finalized the plan to redesign more roads in the city, for the safety of pedestrians and comfort of all.
Hazratganj crossing, the road near IGP and High Court and Shahmina road will all be going under transformation very soon.
With time, traffic has become a major concern in Lucknow. Improper roads lead to accidents, hence there is a need for zebra crossings, parking spaces and separate lanes for vehicles in the city.
According to the research done by World Resources Institute (WRI), two crossings in Lucknow, Hazratganj, and Polytechnic have been poorly designed and need to be changed.

The polytechnic crossing has no separate space for pedestrians, which puts them at a high risk of accidents.
These crossings will first be temporarily designed with the help of paint, traffic safety cones, barricades, etc. LDA has picked up this idea from New York, where new road designs have helped the citizens. LDA too will implement the same in the city and work towards streamlining traffic.
Sapru Marg, has various government offices, commercial spaces, and educational institutes. The idea is to create a separate entry and exit for parking.
This will help prevent traffic jams as anyone who comes for shopping and work can move in separate lanes without having to enter the parking lane.
We can soon expect the roads of Lucknow to be a lot greener and pedestrian friendly.
The entire redesigning work will be carried out by LDA along with the help of Regional Centre for Urban and Environmental Studies (RCUES) and World Resources Institute (WRI).
