A 1.6 km stretch of the Gomti Riverfront was opened for public use in 2016. The place became a great hit among the people instantly, but the buzz faded out soon, due to lack of maintenance. The good news is, that after one year of zero maintenance, the riverfront will finally be given a makeover by the Lucknow Development Authorities.
The project which already saw an expenditure of over 1400 crores, is in a bad shape currently. The fountains are broken, the tiles have come off, many lights have been stolen or broken, the plants have dried out and the river is in a bad shape too.
River Gomti will soon be brought back to its former glory and adding to its beauty will be the riverfront.
LDA will ensure the cleanliness, greenery and will also employ people to look after the maintenance and security.
This entire project will take up to 6 months, in which exotic plants will be planted, garbage dumping in the river will be handled and the riverfront will be brought back to life. Once again, you will be able to see a clean flowing Gomti river and greenery around it.
The entire stretch from the Hanuman Setu Temple to the rubber dam, will be undergoing maintenance and will be made ready by December.
The Gomti riverfront in no time became the favourite of people. Food trucks and other food joints also attracted more and more people and made the place look lively. Vey soon you will once again get to enjoy your evenings by the river, surrounded by beautiful plants and trees and a variety of fast-food.
