Finally, Lucknow gets a smart bus stop at Ashok Road. Under the smart city initiative, new bus stops are being developed in Lucknow with state of the art facilities.
Buses are a very important means of transport for daily commuters. However, the condition of bus-stands is not up to date in the city, which makes people hesitant in taking a bus and using public transport.
To change this scenario and provide ease to the commuters, the UP government has launched a smart transport move, under which security issues, frequency of buses, and all other problems will be taken care off. This is what all the revamped bus stands in the city will look like-

150 new bus stops to come up in Lucknow
All the 150 bus stops will have eco-toilets, which will be self-operating. These toilets would be chargeable. As soon as one pays the amount, the door would open, and they would shut right after the person walks out. Fully innovative, these bus-stops will run on solar power and measures will be taken to ensure that passengers do not litter the place.

An LED screen would be used to display the information of routes. While for security, CCTV cameras will be installed. The bus stop will be integrated with the Intelligent Transport Management System. A total of Rs 10 crore has been sanctioned by the government for the bus stop renovation project.
