For a long time now, it has been a subject of debate as to exactly where the most common Indian Breakfast- Poha actually originated from. The fact that authorities are working hard towards getting a GI means that they care about the history of not just the dish, but of the city as well and what makes it such a place. In addition to just Indori Poha, the plan is to get GIs for three other places that have originated in the Malwa region of the country.
These dishes include Doodh Shikanji, Khatta Meetha Namkeen and Laung Sev. Indore is well known for these dishes and surely, if you’re in the city, you have to take some back for your friends and family.
