In order to contain the spread of the deadly coronavirus, Rajasthan government has taken up several measures, including, the promotion of awareness campaigns, educating the masses about the virus and imposing fines on several circumstances. Additionally, the state has also set night curfew in motion in 13 districts, including the capital city, till December 31 and Section 144 has been enforced in Jaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Alwar, Bikaner, Bhilwara, Udaipur, Sikar, Pali and Nagaur, till December 20. The authorities have further chalked out a list of instances for the citizens and visitors, where they will be required to pay a penalty for flouting the laws.
Fines you should be aware of, when in Jaipur & other districts of Rajasthan
The authorities of Rajasthan have set different fines, ranging from ₹100 to ₹25,000, upon the violation of the issued guidelines, on account of the pandemic. Here’s the list of penalties, which might be imposed on you:
| ₹100- For not sticking to social distancing norms |
| ₹200- For spitting in a public place |
| ₹500- For not wearing a face mask (mouth-nose should be sufficiently covered) while outdoors or during travel in public transport; shopkeepers selling goods to any person without a face mask/shield, will also be penalized |
| ₹5,000- For not furnishing a prior written notice to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, before organizing any ceremony or gathering related to weddings and disobeying social distancing protocols while at it |
| ₹10,000- For non-compliance with regular sanitation or not maintaining social distancing during work hours, at workplace; citizens arranging for public programs (excluding marriage and funeral) without permissions from the District Collector |
| ₹25,000- For hosting a marriage ceremony with more than 100 people in attendance |
Continued lockdown in containment zones till December 31
Keeping in view the prevailing COVID-19 scenario in the state, it has also been decided to keep the containment zones under strict lockdown till December 31. Evidently, effective demarcation of containment zones is the key to break the chain of transmission of the contagious coronavirus. The zones will be demarcated by collectors following guidelines issued by the government and only essential services will be allowed in these areas and intensive house-to-house surveillance will be conducted as well.
