The COVID-19 virus seems to be losing its grip on Indore, as the district reported zero new cases on Friday, for the first time since the outbreak of the pandemic outbreak here. Bringing in a major relief, this data points towards Indore’s recovery after nearly one and half years of the coronavirus scare.

Indore solidifies recovery trends against COVID-19

For the first time since March 24, 2020, Indore’s new coronavirus tally was restricted to zero cases on August 20. A notable achievement, this has significantly contributed to lowering the overall infection graph in the district. As per reports, the corona curve in Indore has been at its lowest level in the past eight weeks.

The daily influx of cases has been limited to sub-par 5, except for two scenarios when it shot to 7 cases. Overall, the single-digit detections have boosted the healing trends in the city.

Indore was labelled as the worst-hit region in Madhya Pradesh, after reporting 1,841 cases, its highest, on April 25 this year. The second wave engulfed the district, clogging its chances of recovery with high virulence and toll load. However, in the last two months, the infection rate and positivity ratio have been brought under control, added medical officials.

This strong recovery has been attributed to the diminishing intensity of the Delta strain of the coronavirus. Besides, the active spread and high recovery during the second wave have left the virus with lower availability of new virus hosts. Immunity through vaccination has also helped significantly.

While the Delta variant has not been reported in Indore as yet, medical officials have cautioned the people to keep their guards up and undertake all precautions to sustain the COVID defence. Meanwhile, the death toll in Indore has remained stagnant for the past one and half months.

This coupled with the zero-case trend promises Indore’s victory over the pandemic, soon. The public is urged to keep up with the COVID-19 appropriate behaviour to prevent another infection spike.
