Jaipur authorities have streamlined efforts to amp up guard against the virus. As per the latest reports, 5 oxygen plants have become operational in the city with a total production capacity of 4,200 litres of oxygen per minute. While the interventions to institute these plants were executed during the second wave, they have become functional now to cater to a large count of patients.
An attempt to assure uninterrupted oxygen supply for the patients
It has been reported that the production will be further augmented with the inception of two more facilities at SMS Hospital and Zanana Hospital. Thereafter, the net manufacturing volume would exceed up to 6,200 litres per minute, reportedly. Given the increasing anticipations about the future, these plants shall ensure seamless flow of the life-sustaining gas if the third wave hits.
As per reports, a total of 8 hospitals were chosen for setting up oxygen plants under the central administration’s scheme led by Defence Research and Development Organisation and the NHAI. As a part of this project, plants have been installed at 5 hospitals, including ESIC Hospital, Gangauri Hospital, SMS Hospital, JK Lone Hospital and the cancer hospital located in Pratap Nagar. Other than the cancer hospital, other centres have a production capacity of 1,000 litres per minute.
3 more plants to be instituted in the city
Reportedly, a senior official informed that other 3 plants will soon be installed across healthcare facilities in the city. During the second wave when the infection tallies peaked throughout the country, the patients faced gruesome problems due to the constrained oxygen supply. Now, the authorities have converged their efforts to make sure that such circumstances are not repeated in the future.
