Yoga for some, is a way of therapy to calm the mind and to align their chakras but for others, mostly like us, it’s all about the savasana and there’s no turning back from that.
Although we now know the myriad of benefits which stems from yoga, this activity simply has made us roll our eyes before because we had no idea why we’ve to be ‘mindful’ and ‘connect’ with our body in order to excel at it!
Still not a big fan of moving our lazy bums out of our beds early in the morning but hey, if something new catches our eyes, we’re surely going for the experience and if it involves food too, you know we’ll be sold!
So along similar lines, while exploring Palolem, we came across this joint which doubles up as a yoga centre and a health cafe and is not yet on the mainstream touristy radars!

A 6yo cafe tucked in an offbeat location, The Space is offering visitors with therapy rooms, a verdant boho garden, a yoga studio, a sprawling space for workshops, a shop selling knick-knacks and a deli- phewww! They even have locally sourced goods on sale which ranges from herbal oils to baked items and once you step in, you’ll feel like you’ve spent your entire day in just a few hours. Too much to explore and so little time because they shut down really early at 5:30pm!
Trust us, this is where you’ll find your nirvana (even if temporary) because it is far away from the maddening party crowds who flock on the beaches and the silence here, comprises of nature’s melodies only!
From regular movie screenings to sound healing therapies, The Space is all about you taking care of your health, with a substantial focus on your mental well-being too. They even have yoga teachers for you to take up a quick sesh here or you can just sign up for chakra balancing, painting and conscious eating classes!

When here, try out the salads, mezze platters and their desserts are simply sublime- the carrot walnut cake and the cheesecake are still lingering on our palates, long after we’ve wolfed ‘em down and that speaks volumes about these treats! You know what surprised us the most? The affordability of these freshly made products which are mostly organic too- such a gem truly!
