With a motive to enhance the travel framework inside Indore and along the neighbouring regions, the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) has now released a timeline for completion of 10 major road projects of the city.
As per the roster shared by IMC, 5 out of the 10 projects, including the much-anticipated Khandwa road, are slated to be completed during the financial year 2023-24.
Which project will be completed as per the timeline?
As per IMC’s timeline, construction on the 6.5 km long Khandwa road, connecting Bhanwarkuan Square to Tejaji Nagar underpass, will be completed in June 2023.
With this, the development of the RE-2 master plan road project, stretching over a distance of 4.2 km and intended to connect Bhuri Tekri and Bicholi Hapsi, was also impeded earlier. The halt arose from complications related to the acquisition of land and the necessity to remove various structures.
As of now, this road is being built jointly by Indore Development Authority (IDA) and IMC. While the IDA had completed its part of the work, the IMC is still taking care of the crucial changes. As per the shared timeline, the development of this route as well, will be completed during this fiscal.
3 more road projects aligned for completion
Additionally, 3 more road projects are slated to be implemented within the current fiscal year. The first of these projects involves the stretch of road between Musakhedi and Sanwariya Mandir while the second concerns the road between Imli Bazaar and Mari Mata Square.
Finally, IMC has confirmed that the construction work on the stretch of road from Navlakha Square to the District Jail, passing through Azad Nagar Square, is also expected to be completed within the current fiscal year.
The proper execution of the aforementioned road projects is expected to improve the quality of transportation services in the concerned regions of the city and meet the needs of the growing population in the future.
